Hi there! My name is Leroy Powell. I'm an artist and a hair stylist.

 

I was born in Aylesbury, in Buckinghamshire, England in 1984. In '87, we moved to Redding, Connecticut, where I lived until I moved to Massachusetts in '02. I graduated from Montserrat College of Art in '06 with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree in illustration, and moved to Boston soon after.

Now I live in the South End with my husband, Jason, where we own and operate our small business, Powell & Burke salon. When I'm not at the salon, I'm working on my mixed media paintings, which I do in acrylic and cut-paper collage. I also curate the salon's feature showcase wall, Ivy Lane Gallery.

As a hobby, I film and edit videos, both for myself and for my friend's band, The Spots.
